Aquila Capital Investmentgesellschaft (ACI), the asset management subsidiary of Aquila Capital Holding GmbH of which we have 40% ownership, has entered a strategic partnership with Commerzbank.
ACI will leverage Commerzbank's global network to expand its asset under management and explore new growth opportunities through collaboration. In return, Commerzbank will benefit from ACI's expertise in the sustainable investment, providing its clients with a wealth of sustainable investment opportunities under its mission to promote the energy transition. As part of this strategic alliance, Commerzbank acquires a 74.9% stake in ACI.
Aquila Group reaffirms its long-term commitment to the company and will continue to play a leading role in shaping its future growth.

The aim of the collaboration is to significantly accelerate the growth of ACI and develop the company into one of the leading asset managers for sustainable investment strategies in Europe.
ACI is expected to benefit from Commerzbank's strong branding and its extensive distribution network, which includes almost 11 million private and corporate clients; 26,000 corporate client groups; and a global presence in more than 40 countries. Commerzbank aspires to facilitate the energy transition gaining access to ACI's investment expertise. This enables the bank to expand its market position in real asset investments.
Future Actions
Since forming a strategic alliance with Aquila Capital in May 2020, we have collaborated with Aquila Group in a variety of areas, including development and investment in renewable energy assets in Europe and APAC. While Aquila Group's main subsidiary, ACI, has managed renewable energy investment funds primarily for European investors, Daiwa Securities Group has supported Aquila Group in providing Japanese investors with opportunities to invest in European renewable energy through its funds.
The strategic alliance between ACI and Commerzbank will help Aquila Group to rapidly seize growth opportunities as the need for sustainable investments continues to grow. We welcome this alliance and will continue to strengthen our relationship with Aquila Group in the areas of renewable energy and sustainable investment.
