With an aim to further expand our business and to provide the growing demands from the Japanese investors with investment opportunities in renewable energy fields, we entered into a strategic partnership with Aquila Capital Holding GmbH (Aquila Capital) and acquired a 40% of stake in the company.

Aquila Capital is an experienced investment management company that mainly deals with renewable energy assets. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Dieter Rentsch and Roman Rosslenbroich, the company currently manages approx. 12.5 billion EUR for its clients worldwide (as of December 31, 2020). Local, on-site management teams are the key in the company's operations. With 14 offices in 12 countries and more than 450 employees, comprehensive operational capabilities, intensive asset management and passion for details ensure asset and product performance as well as timely deployment of the capital. Enthusiasm for real assets and ESG lies under its business activities.
Industry Perspectives and Future Actions
Through future collaborations with Aquila Capital, we aim to accelerate Aquila Capital’s businesses in Euro that have a huge market opportunity in the renewable energy fields and to collect insights from the sophisticated PPA markets that do not depend on grants and public support from the governments. We are also seeing growing global demands for sustainable real asset investments, particularly in Japan and Asia. By leveraging Aquila Capital’s expertise and strong track records across renewable energy fields, we will support Aquila Capital and the brand to identify and develop first-rate investment solutions for the Japanese and Asian investors.
