We jointly invested in an onshore wind project located in Scotland with Capital Dynamics and other investors. The consortium has acquired a 100 percent equity stake in this 50MW ready-to-build project from a German developer. The project is expected to reach commercial operations in 2025/26 and have a long-term PPA with a reputable power purchaser.
Investment Highlights
In Europe, especially in the northern part including Scotland, onshore wind power plants are more prevalent than solar, PV power plants, which are more common here in Japan. Advanced corporate PPA deals are also available in the U.K. We believe that we can bring back industry knowledge and expertise gained from the project to improve our domestic businesses.
Future Actions
We will accelerate the exploration in the market together with our partners including Capital Dynamics and eventually expand our renewable energy portfolio in Europe.
