This partnership with Solariant will drive our strategic investment in the U.S. solar power and other clean energy projects. We expect to initially focus on developing an approximately 1 GWp solar power and 2.5 GWh BESS projects located across the southeastern and southwestern regions of the United States. We will continue to grow our footprint in the U.S. renewable energy market.
Investment Highlights
The U.S. government actively supports renewable energy to reduce CO2 emissions, and we expect a continuous growth in the sector which includes solar power electricity generation. The United States is also ahead in electricity merchant market, corporate PPA and battery energy storage systems when compared to where we stand here in Japan. We believe that we can gain industry knowledge and expertise by working on the U.S. solar power projects and apply them to our domestic business that is likely to experience a similar change in the near future.
Future Actions
Together with our partner Solariant, we will start engaging in solar power projects in the United States. Solariant will use their knowledge, expertise and resources to develop valuable projects while we utilize our global network and presence to differentiate us from our competitors.
